BlackBerry Device Wipe in Switch Device Wizard

In the more recent versions of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager (DM) they added an automatic update feature which I just saw work for the first time last week. My 4.7 DM prompted me then automatically upgraded to DM 5.0. I decided this week to switch back to my BlackBerry 8900 from my BlackBerry Bold 9000 and noticed something interesting as the device switch wizard completed - it had copied everything from my old device to the new one then the program asked if I wanted to reconnect my old device and wipe it. Nice!

It's not a feature I'll ever use because you have to make sure everything is working on the new device before you wipe the old one, but less experienced users will like how complete the process is now.

I had a lot of issues completing the device switch, it kept failing without telling me anything about why it failed. I finally googled the error message and wiped the new device and it worked like a champ. It's amazing though that a process will fail and the software doesn't provide any information at all about what caused it. It's hard to troubleshoot a problem when you have absolutely nothing about what the problem was.  So apparently this new DM still needs some work.
